A 24-year-old man, Daniel Chukwudiebele Okocha, who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend , Nkechi Vivian Agwor, to death, over suspicion that she was cheating on him, has been arrested in his hideout in Lagos.
The incident passed off last Sunday at the lovers home in Egbeda. Trouble commenced when the suspect refused to allow the deceased, Nkechi, his girlfriend aged 20, to go to church on Sunday.
When the deceased insisted, a quarrel ensued, which degenerated into a battle at some stage in which Daniel allegedly stabbed her with a knife in the neck and fled. When he was once arrested, he admitted culpability. The police officer said: “Daniel has confessed to the murder. He us that he killed his lover, due to the fact he was once suspecting that she used to be cheating on him. Also he told us that on the fateful day, Nkechi had informed him that she used to be going to church, however he warned her to take a seat down at home as he suspected that she was once having an appointment with any other man who attends the equal church with her. He said when Nkechi refused to obey him and insisted that she was going to church, he picked a battle with her and stabbed her various times. We trust he was once telling a cock and bull memories because the message he typed in the deceased telephone confirmed that he had the intention of killing her. He wrote that he killed her and watched her for forty five minutes to see her die.

He went further to say, ‘I gave her life, but she refused to give me back’. With these statements, we are satisfied that he planned and accomplished the killing. The irony of the complete thing is that the two of them are from the identical town, Ubulu-Uku in Delta State. Preliminary investigation showed that though they had one child, but they were not legally married. We were advised that the suspect was so possessive and jealous that at one time, he tried to kill himself via ingesting a poisonous substance, Snipper. It was the deceased that rushed him to the health center the place he was once revived .”
