It’s a black Valentine’s day for a couple in Sapele, Delta State, Ufuoma Atidja and Matilda Aghotor didn’t live to celebrate Valentine’s day as they were found dead in their apartment along NDDC road in Amukpe, Sapele L G A of Delta State.
We learnt that their remains were discovered on Saturday morning, February 13, after neighbours looked through the window and saw the man on the floor while the woman was on the bed.
The lovers were said to have attended a party the previous night.
A source said, “They came home late after a party and slept off yesterday, only to wake up this morning and we found them dead.”
The source also confirmed that, Ufuoma Atidja and Matilda Aghotor had just returned to the country last year from an undisclosed foreign country and had reportedly moved into the area last December.
A another source said that their deaths may have been as a result of inhaling generator fumes.
“Their generator was put on yesterday when they came back and we are suspecting it must have been the cause of their death.”
However, the spokesperson of the Delta State Police DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya has confirmed the incident.
